Another Wave of Recruits!!!

by TJ Runhart

The Seaforth Generals proud member of the Canadian Premier Junior Hockey League have had a busy week when it comes to signings.

Building from the crease out- the Gens are excited to announce the signing 6'1" Ottawa, Ontario native Sean Emond. Sean joins the Generals after playing the 2016-2017 season for the North Peace Navigators of the North West Junior Hockey League. Last season Sean finished up with a GAA of 2.74.

"We are excited to be adding Sean to our group of players this season, competition and desire to play at the next level are a couple things that will force Sean to bring his A game to every practice and game!"

Another signing seen the Generals add defenceman 16 year old Defenseman Hayden Daca. Daca who hails from Milwaukee Wisconsin comes to the Gens ready to prove he can play at this level! Hayden played last season for the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals AAA organization.

"We have a very talented  played in Hayden, I think he'll be a quiet addition but teams will soon be taking note on what this youngster has to offer! He will continue to excel and be given a shot to show us everything he has" - Coach Runhart had to say about signing Hayden.

Another signing see the Generals in Brandon Prewett. Brandon is a 5'10" highly skilled forward who comes to Seaforth from Anchorage, Alaska. Brandon will be called upon to add more high octane scoring to an already impressive roster! Brandon played last season for the Louisiana Drillers of the NA3HL.

"Brandon is a very skilled forward who has excellent ice vision. Any time we can add that player that is a point per game Guyitt going to help that's for sure" add Coach Runhart when asked about Prewett.

Seaforth native Jack Buckley resigns with the Generals for the 2017-2018 season. Buckley signed with the Gens at last seasons deadline, playing the last two months in Green and Orange.

"Buck was a young guy who came in late last season after not wanting to play Midget in Seaforth last year. It took him a couple weeks to find his footing but he came into his own the last month and playoffs. Jack will be expected to take that next step this coming season" Coach Runhart commented.

Generals also add 16 year old Jared Searles from Stratford Ontario. Jared was a teammate of Generals player Ethan Scrimgeour last season and is looking forward to a break out year with the Generals.

"Jared is a workhorse, he battles well and does all the small things right. He makes room for his teammates and can move the puck very well. We're looking forward to working with Jared this season!" Coach Runhart had to say regarding the signing of Searles

Welcome to the #GensArmy boys and stay tuned as more signings will be announced shortly.
